Q. Which grade of membership am I eligible for?

A. Read the information on our membership grades, which includes details on the criteria for each grade. If you are still unsure after that email your CV to membership@cipr.co.uk for further advice.


Q. Do I need to complete the PR and Communications experience page of the application?

A. Yes, Affiliates, Associates and Members must complete the experience page OR attach their CV to the application showing all their PR experience together with dates.


Q. I am applying for Associate or Member and don’t know anyone to sponsor me?

A. Your sponsor must be a Member (MCIPR) or Fellow (FCIPR). If you don’t know anyone the CIPR regional groups are always happy to provide sponsor signatures. Contact details for the regional groups can be found here.


Q. Can the entrance fee be deducted from my account by direct debit?

A. No, the entrance fee must be paid by cheque or card.


Q. Does my journalism experience count towards my grade of membership?

A. No, journalism doesn’t form part of the criteria for membership of the CIPR.
