- All current Associate (ACIPR) members will be upgraded to Member (MCIPR).
- Affiliates working as PR professionals will become Associates or Members, depending on experience. Associates will be expected to upgrade to Member after two years of professional practice and CPD.
- No grade change for current members in the following categories: Student; Global Affiliate; Member or Fellow.
- Membership extended to entrants from related professions such as journalism and marketing, with a track record of relevant experience and a commitment to professional development.
- The changes begin on January 1, 2012.
