The current President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is Sally Sykes. Sally took over from Paul Mylrea, CIPR President for 2011, on 1 January 2012.
Sally Sykes joined the Health and Safety Executive as Communications Director in December 2008 from global healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson.
At the Health and Safety Executive Sally leads a team of 76 marketing, design, media relations, internal communications, on-line and PR professionals.
She has also held senior communications positions with Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals (focussing on internal communications and corporate social responsibility), Ciba-Geigy, Scottish & Newcastle, Littlewoods and Manchester Airport. Sally has previously been Treasurer of the Chartered Instsitute for Public Relations, and is a Fellow of the Institute, she is also a former winner of its PR Professional of the Year award in the North West of England.
