Non-completion of CPD

If you don't log at least 60 points in a year you will be deemed to have not completed that CPD year and any CPD points you had accrued up to that point will be lost. Any accreditations that depend on ongoing CPD participation (such as Accredited Practitioner, Chartered Practitioner and Approved Trainer) will also be lost.

If you rejoin the scheme at any point in the future, your previous records will be available to view but will not count towards any accreditation or designations where ongoing CPD participation is required.

Discretionary credits

If your CPD record is incomplete for a valid reason, we may be able to add discretionary credits to you CPD record, depending on your situation. Please contact the CIPR's CPD Manager if you believe that one of the following situations is affecting your ability to complete the current CPD year:

  • maternity/paternity leave
  • ill health/bereavement
  • unemployment
  • role change/relocation
  • sabbatical, extended leave or career breaks.
