Entry guidelines

There are four different sets of guidelines outlined here. They apply to:

  • Campaign awards
  • Special awards
  • Individual awards
  • Team awards.

Campaign awards (categories 1–18)

Entries should consist of no more than 1,000 words and should address these key headings:

  • The campaign brief
  • Objectives
  • Strategy and tactics
  • Outputs
  • Outcomes
  • Budget.

In category 12 – Best Use of Media Relations, to support your 1,000 word entry, please upload up to 10 examples of media coverage, this must be uploaded via the 'Additional supporting information' field.

In category 14 - Broadcast, to support your 1,000 word entry, you will be requested to submit an example of broadcast footage. This footage should be a montage of coverage achieved in the campaign and be no longer than 5 minutes and no larger than 200MB. This file will be requested from you directly from the CIPR Awards Team using ShareFile no later than three days after you have completed the entry form. Please label this file with your unique entry reference number.

Please upload the following with your entry and additional supporting information (these images will not be judged or be seen by any of the Awards judges):

  • One campaign image
  • One company logo. This is for use if the photograph you upload is not suitable for publication.

Both the images referred to above must be 300 dpi and in jpeg, gif or png format.

Entries should relate to work carried out between January 2011 and February 2012.

Special awards (categories 19–22)

Entries should consist of no more than 1,000 words and should address these key headings:

  • The project brief
  • Objectives
  • Strategy and tactics
  • Outputs
  • Outcomes
  • Budget.

In category 19 – External Newspaper, Magazine or Publication, in addition to your 1,000 word entry, please upload two issues of your newspaper, magazine or publication in PDF format.

In category 20 – Internal Newspaper, Magazine or Publication, in addition to your 1,000 word entry, please upload two issues of your newspaper, magazine or publication in PDF format.

In category 21 - Website, please ensure that you provide the URL to your website at the top of the entry document.

With the exception of category 21 - Website, entries in these categories should relate to work carried out between January 2011 and February 2012. No timescale applies to the Website category.

Please upload the following with your entry and additional supporting information (these images will not be judged or be seen by any of the Awards judges):

  • One campaign image
  • One company logo (this is for use if the photograph you upload is unsuitable).

Both the images referred to above must be 300 dpi and in jpeg, gif or png format.

Individual awards

Category 23 – Outstanding Young Communicator

Entries should consist of no more than 1,000 words and should focus on your professional achievements. Please provide the following information:

  • an overview of your experience in the profession
  • a short endorsement from your current employer
  • an example of a recent campaign you have worked on.

Entries must be made by the candidate and not by a third party.

Category 24 – Best Freelance Practitioner

Entries should consist of no more than 1,000 words and should focus on your business achievements. Please provide the following information:

  • overview of your experience in the profession
  • your business objectives and analysis of performance against budget
  • endorsement from two clients
  • an example of a campaign you have delivered, including details of the brief, objectives, strategy and tactics, outputs, outcomes and budget.

Judges will be looking at achievements and performance over the period January 2009 – February 2012.

Please upload the following with your entry and additional supporting information (these images will not be judged or be seen by any of the Awards judges):

  • one individual image (a professional image of yourself)
  • one company logo (this is for use if the photograph you upload is unsuitable).

Both the images referred to above must be 300 dpi and in jpeg, gif or png format.

Team awards (categories 25-27)

Entries should consist of no more than 1,000 words and focus on your business achievements. Please provide the following information:

  • corporate mission
  • business objectives and analysis of performance against budget
  • overview of business / team strategy
  • a summary of recent outstanding achievements
  • an example of a campaign you are particularly proud of, including details of the brief, objectives, strategy and tactics, outputs, outcomes and budget
  • endorsement from two clients
  • what makes you special as an employer.

Please upload the following with your entry and additional supporting information (these images will not be judged or be seen by any of the Awards judges):

  • one team image
  • one company logo (this is for use if the photograph you upload is unsuitable).

Both the images referred to above must be 300 dpi and in jpeg, gif or png format.

Judges will be looking at achievements and performance over the period January 2009 – February 2012.
