Category Specific Guidelines

Campaign awards: categories 1 to 13

The criteria for all campaign entries are:

  • Strategy
  • Implementation
  • Creativity – what makes the campaign stand out?
  • Evaluation and measurement
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Final results against objectives

Each submission must consist of:

  • Three copies of a completed entry form, which should be downloaded and printed from http://ciprprideawards.com
  • Four copies of a Summary (no more than 1,000 words) focusing on the above headings.

Please label your box file clearly with the region, category name and number, the entry title, name of entrant organisation and client name where appropriate.

Each Summary must end with an indication of the total budget allocated to the project (including an appropriate allowance for staff, fees/retainer time) within the bands:
a) £0 - £10k
b) £11k – £50k
c) £51K - £100k
d) Over £100k

If appropriate, you may include one set of supporting material with each entry but all material must fit comfortably into the box file. You may include a short CD or DVD (no longer than a few minutes in duration), clearly labelled in the same way as your box file.

Special awards: categories 14 to 20

The criteria for all special entries are:

  • The aim of the event / design or photographic work / publication / website
  • How your work meets the requirements of your target audiences
  • Design and creativity – what makes your work stand out?
  • Evaluation and measurement

Each submission must consist of:

  • Three copies of a completed entry form, which should be downloaded and printed from http://ciprprideawards.com
  • Four copies of a Summary (no more than 1,000 words) focusing on the above headings.

Please label your box file clearly with the region, category name and number, the entry title, name of entrant organisation and client name where appropriate.

Each Summary must end with an indication of the total budget allocated to the project (including an appropriate allowance for staff, fees/retainer time) within the bands:
a) £0 - £10k
b) £11k – £50k
c) £51K - £100k
d) Over £100k

In addition:

Categories 15 and 17 – Best Newspaper and Best Magazine

Entries in these categories should also include six copies of the magazine or newspaper (three copies each of two issues). E-format will be accepted on a memory stick.

Category 16 – Best Publication

Entries in this category should also include three copies of the publication. E-format will be accepted on a memory stick

Category 18 – Best Newsletter

Entries in this category should also include three copies of the newsletter. E-format will be accepted on a memory stick

Please label your box file clearly with the region, category name and number, the entry title, name of entrant organisation and client name where appropriate.

Individual Award: Category 21

Entries for the Outstanding Young Communicator Award must be made personally by the candidate.

Each submission must consist of:

  • Three copies of a completed entry form, which should be downloaded and printed from http://ciprprideawards.com.
  • Four copies of a Summary (no more than 1,000 words) focusing on your personal achievements.
  • A letter from your employer or client supporting the entry.
  • A piece of your own written work – this can be an article or feature of up to 1,000 words that you have written on a PR issue or topic.

Please clearly label your box file with the region, category name and number, your name and organisation.

Individual Award: Category 22

Entries for the Xchangeteam Freelancer of the Year Award must be made personally by the candidate.

Criteria for this award are:

  • Business objectives
  • An example of a particular campaign
  • A list of outstanding achievements
  • Evaluation of those achievements, including analysis of performance against budget

Each submission must consist of:

  • Three copies of a completed entry form, which should be downloaded and printed from http://ciprprideawards.com.
  • Four copies of a Summary (no more than 1,000 words) focusing on your professional achievements in the period January 2009 – July 2010.

Please clearly label your box file with the region, category name and number, your name and organisation.

If appropriate, you may include one set of supporting materials with your entry (all materials must fit comfortably into the box file).

Team Awards: Categories 23 to 26

Please note:
These Awards will be judged by the Chairs of Judges, based on the information presented in each entry for this category alone.

Entries for Team Awards may focus on work undertaken over a three-year period.

Criteria for all team awards are:

  • Business objectives
  • An example of a particular campaign
  • A list of outstanding achievements
  • Evaluation of those achievements, including analysis of performance against budget
  • The reasons the team is considered special – what makes them stand out?

Each submission must consist of:

  • Three copies of a completed entry form, which should be downloaded and printed from http://ciprprideawards.com.
  • Four copies of a Summary (no more than 1,000 words) focusing on the above headings.

Please label your box file clearly with the region, category name and number, the entry title, name of entrant organisation and client name where appropriate.

Judges will be looking at achievements and team performance over a period of up to three years: July 2007 – July 2010. The entry can include examples of successful campaigns, as well as details of how PR is valued within the organisation i.e. PR team/staff expansion, increased budgets, staff training and retention etc.

If appropriate, you may include one set of supporting material with each entry but all material must fit comfortably into the box file.
