- Thistle Brighton, Brighton
- Confirmed speaker: Alastair Campbell
Conference highlights
Representing communicators across all local public services, this year's conference programme was packed full of the issues Local Public Service Communicators face on a day-to-day basis.
The theme was Navigating Change. We explored shaping a new model of communications in local public services.
The speakers were:
- Alastair Campbell, drawing on his considerable understanding of the modern media
- Peter Bingle, Chairman of Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, who has over 26 years' experience in public affairs and is one of the most prominent figures in the industry
- Paul Mylrea who is Head of press and media relations at the BBC and President elect of the CIPR.
There was also a look at best practice from across the public sector in our unique Trade Secrets sessions. Delegates were able to learn more about the shortlisted Excellence Awards entries throughout the conference and had an opportunity to find out more at the Trade Secrets exhibition.
The two day conference ended with the Excellence Awards gala dinner this year held at The Grand, Brighton. These are the most hotly contested awards for the local public services. To be shortlisted is an achievement in itself.
