A Grand celebration of PR and Communications Excellence
Professionals from all areas of local public services, including the police, fire services and the NHS, were represented at the CIPR LPS Excellence Awards gala evening on Friday 22 October at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, where the winners from 11 categories were announced to mark the end of another highly successful annual conference.
Northamptonshire County Council was voted Communications team of the year, having also won first place for their internal communications and digital excellence campaigns. Judges agreed that Northamptonshire were most deserving for this prestigious award.
Robin Treacher, judge and Fellow of the CIPR LPS with 30 years experience in the industry was hosting the awards. He said,
The team has demonstrated excellent use of resources, and shown a real appreciation of staff engagement and a commitment to the future with social media techniques. Congratulations are due for an outstanding team effort.

Once again competition was tough which proves that local public services communications is continually evolving and resulting in communications that work.
Emma Britton, Interim Media Manager from the London Borough of Hackney was awarded Young Communicator of the Year, and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council won Campaign of the Year with their timely and best value campaign to tackle obesity in Stockport, 'Active Stockport Strides Ahead.'
