CIPR Northern Ireland is a regional group of the Institute of Public Relations, Europe's largest PR professional body, and has been representing public relations professionals in Northern Ireland since 1965.

PR industry

Members of CIPR NI play a central role in the workings of government, the development and success of Northern Ireland companies at home and abroad and in the work of the voluntary sector, ensuring that the PR industry makes a major contribution to the economic and social fabric of Northern Ireland.

Objectives

Raise the profile and professional standing of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in Northern Ireland. Represent and support members through the provision of tailor-made professional development events, benchmarking through awards, networking opportunities, sharing best practice and forging close links between the PR industry and key stakeholders.

Activities

From meet the media events, training seminars, networking events and the PRide Awards, CIPR Northern Ireland organises a broad range of activities to meet the needs of members.

Chartered Status

The application for a Charter was approved by CIPR members at the 2004 AGM and Charter Status awarded by the Privy Council in February 2005. This marked the 'coming of age' of the PR profession and is official recognition of the important and influential role that public relations plays in business, government and democratic society.

Continuing Professional Development

CPD is the Continuing Professional Development scheme for the PR industry, and is exclusive and free to CIPR members. Participation on the scheme leads to Accredited Practitioner status and is part of the CIPR's newly launched Chartered Practitioner status, so participants will receive more recognition for their professionalism.
