The Wessex Group covers Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight, and has a thriving membership base of more than 300 PR professionals.
Our role is to provide a link between members and the CIPR, offering events that are educational, informative and entertaining, providing networking opportunities for practitioners in all areas of the industry.
Our showcase event each year is the annual PRide awards dinner, highlighting the success and achievements of PR professionals in the Wessex region. This event has gone from strength to strength in recent years and continues to demonstrate the skill and talent of our local practitioners.
Other regular features in the events calendar include our new Social Media forums and our regular Freelancers forum meetings, site visits to Print, Radio and Broadcast companies and opportunities to meet the PR teams for a variety of different organisations across the region.
We maintain strong links with PR students at both Bournemouth and Southampton Solent Universities and hold annual 'Meet the professionals' events at both venues, enabling the PR degree students to meet seasoned PR professionals and to discuss career opportunities and help to build their network of business contacts.
We also hold an annual competition for PR students at Bournemouth and Southampton Solent Universities, where the award for the best dissertations are presented at their graduation days.
We are always looking for new Members to support our Committee. Our AGM is held in January, but if you would like to join a Committee project team, make a particular contribution or simply attend an event, please contact us.
Members of the Wessex Group are always happy to support Careers Fairs, organise talks on Public Relations topics or participate in other relevant local events.
