PRIME Research, a global leader in strategic communication research, and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) are collaborating in the launch today (1 April) of the first ever Measurement & Evaluation Fellowship Award in the UK.
The winner of the award will be offered a six-week internship at PRIME's research centre in Oxford, UK, part of the company international which includes Germany (Mainz), Switzerland (Zurich), USA (New York/Ann Arbor), Uruguay (Montevideo), India (New Delhi), and China (Shanghai). In addition, there will be a £4,000 stipend and accommodation will be provided.

The competition is open to students on the postgraduate or the final year of undergraduate degree programmes, and to those who graduated in 2010.

About the task
Applicants should submit a 1500 word essay online on the topic of public relations evaluation. In keeping with the 2011 theme of sustainability/green PR, applicants should draw on examples relevant to this theme to illustrate their discussion.
The judges will use the following criteria in assessing submissions:
use of a range of credible and referenced sources
understanding of key evaluation concepts
a clear argument supported by evidence from practice – particularly sustainability PR
conclusions that demonstrate fresh insight
clear, accurate and fluent writing style.
About the PRIME Research Fellowship
This was inaugurated in the US in 2009 and a winner last year was Vanessa Procter while she was studying for a Master's Degree in Public Relations at Bournemouth. Vanessa, 23, and originally from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, later joined the company and after training at PRIME's headquarters in Mainz near Frankfurt currently works at the research centre in Oxford.
