If you receive a fail at any stage, and disagree with the outcome, you can apply for a reassessment.
Resubmission and second/third interview fees are at the same rate as for the original submission.
Stage 1 - £50
Stage 2 - £150

Grounds for candidates to seek a reassessment
You may request that your work is reassessed on the basis of a specific disagreement with the judgment of the Assessors outlined in your feedback.
Procedure
You must submit your appeal in letter format to the CIPR. Your letter should be first sent by email, as an attachment, to malcolmw@cipr.co.uk and also by post to:

The letter must be accompanied by a cheque covering the fee. Your full Membership number must be stated. The Professional Development and Membership team will acknowledge receipt of your appeal within one week. Please mark envelope CPS Appeal.
Your letter must set out why you disagree with the outcome of your assessment, along with a copy of your feedback note. This will be given to a Chartered Practitioner Assessor who was not involvedwith your initial assessment.The new Assessor will review the interview notes on the basis of the original assessment criteria and with reference to your detailed argument disagreeing with the outcome of the assessment.
The result of the appeal will be despatched to you as soon as possible, no longer than six weeks after the CIPR receives the application. Should the appeal result in the upgrading of your original result to a pass, the application fee shall be refunded.
Resubmissions at Stage 1
If you fail at Stage 1, please read the assessor's notes. It may be possible to resubmit immediately with new or additional information, or they may advise that you gain more experience before reapplying.
Resubmissions at Stage 2
If you failed your Stage 2 paper, it will be possible to resubmit a new paper within the next 12 months without restarting the application process. You may resubmit twice, after which you will need restart the application process at Stage 1.
Second interviews at Stage 3
If you failed your Stage 3 interview, you must book a new Stage 3 interview slot within 12 months to avoid restarting the application process. If you fail a second time, you may book a third interview. If this is failed you will need to restart the application process at Stage 1.
