This course is taught and assessed at level 7 of the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
The course is for experienced internal communication or PR professionals who want to develop their strategic internal communication and management skills. You will focus on core topics such as: analysing organisational culture, audit methodologies and application, change management theory, using research to inform and help develop internal communication strategies, moving from one-way communications to engagement, psychology of communication and the role and function of intranets.

Who is the course aimed at?
The CIPR Internal Communication Diploma is suitable for you if: you are an experienced internal communication or PR professional; looking to gain a specialist internal communication qualification to underpin your skills with internal communication theory and analysis; you want to gain new skills or improve existing skills by learning about the strategic role of internal communications; you wish to establish yourself as an internal communication practitioner.
Entry criteria
Entry to the Internal Communication Diploma can be on the basis of either qualifications or experience or a mixture of both. See entry criteria for full details.

Assessment
In addition to taught sessions, you should expect to spend approximately eight hours per week on independent study, including reading, time required to complete activities for lectures and time for completion of the project report. Assessment is through completion of a 6000 word research project report, based on an investigation into internal communication at a specific organisation.
Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
How do I apply?
Applications are processed centrally at CIPR HQ. Candidates will be notified as soon as possible whether their application has been successful. Provided candidates satisfy the entry criteria, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is no deadline for applications, but you need to allow sufficient time for your application to be processed and for our invoice to be paid by you or your sponsor before the first teaching date. You should also bear in mind that courses can fill up quite quickly.

Note
Membership of the CIPR is a mandatory requirement for Internal Communication Diploma students. For this reason, the application form covers applying for both the course and CIPR membership.

Exemptions towards the CIPR Diploma
Holders of the CIPR Internal Communication Diploma who wish to go on to study the CIPR Diploma in Public Relations will be granted an exemption from the third unit/assessment and the course fees will be reduced accordingly.
