diversity policy > Diversity programme
The CIPR diversity programme is a long-term
strategy to achieve our objectives on diversity. The main objectives of
the programme are:
 |
To
develop a culture of diversity raising general awareness within
the PR industry |
 |
To
increase the number of PR practitioners from diverse backgrounds
|
The CIPR aims to achieve these objectives
by targeting the following areas:
Information
Our members will be kept up-to-date on diversity issues via:
 |
The
CIPR website |
 |
General and specialist newsletters |
 |
Profile magazine |
 |
Various other types of communication and events |
Training and Education
We will include diversity within our training and educational
programmes, bringing together case studies, testimonials and examples of
PR best practice, as well as introducing specific training on diversity
and its importance in communication.
Evaluation and Research
We will measure and evaluate the diversity of the PR industry. The CIPR
is committed to conducting research that can be used to benchmark and
evaluate the effectiveness of our programme.
Membership
We will encourage our members to put diversity at their heart of their
work. We will work to increase a more diverse representation within the
CIPR at all levels.
Marketing and Communications
The CIPR will endeavour to strengthen relations between the CIPR and
diversity related associations and organisations by improving our links
with them and working on joint diversity projects. We also aim to
increase the use of marketing and information tools that are diversity
friendly. We will direct our voice using a diverse range of media.
Networking and Events
Diversity will be included in all CIPR events. Moreover, we will
encourage our diversity group to organise their own networking
activities and we will also increase our presence in diversity related
events, conferences and meetings.
