Enrolling on a CIPR approved course was such a fantastic option for me, it’s a great feeling to know that everything I’m studying at Lincoln has been approved by the governing body of the PR industry. It gives me confidence that what I am being taught on my BA (Hons) Public Relations course is going to be directly relevant to me when I embark upon my working career.
Also, thanks to studying on an approved course, it means I have had access to CIPR student membership. This comes at a very reasonable price with a ton of benefits. My favourites include access to the student website, weekly editions of PRWeek and discounted books. Now I have gained an understanding of the benefits and the role that the CIPR plays in the industry I will stay a member for as long as I am working in PR.
Having a CIPR approved course under your belt also looks fantastic on your CV; it shows employers that you have a good understanding of PR (because they have trust in the CIPR) and also shows that you are dedicated to the profession, especially if you have made the effort to become a student member.
If someone asked my advice as to whether to take a CIPR approved course or one that wasn't, I would without hesitation, recommend the one approved by the CIPR.
