Agenda
6pm: Registration and drinks.
6.30pm: Annual General Meeting.
7pm: 'Mumsnet and Gransnet – Social Media Phenomena'.
7.40 – 8.30pm: Drinks and canapés.
In January 2000 Mumsnet, the social media website that helps make parents' lives easier by pooling knowledge, advice and support, was launched. Today, Mumsnet gets nearly five million visits a month. In May last year an off-shoot of this brilliant website was launched. Gransnet was described by the Daily Telegraph as "a new dawn in grey power".
We are delighted to be welcoming Geraldine Bedell from Gransnet, and Jennifer Chapman from Mumsnet, to talk about their experience and how we can work together.
The evening is free of charge to all CIPR Fifth Estate members and non-members but booking is essential (please note that non-members will have no voting rights at the AGM).
There are still places available on the Fifth Estate Committee – email the Chair Gill Dandy at fifthestate@cipr.co.uk for more details.
