The Changing Face of Public Relations

Venue:  Claridge's, London

It's that time of year again and the CIPR has an exciting line up for the one-day conference at Claridge's in London on Thursday 8 November.

Topics for discussion include the PR benefits of an environmental policy, protecting employee and company reputation, changing behaviour, transforming a brand and handling a crisis.
 
Speakers include Heather Rabbatts CBE, Chief Executive & Deputy Chairman, Millwall Football Club; Guy Black, Corporate Affairs Director, Telegraph Media Group and Melissa Neil ACIPR, Head of Communications Gloucestershire County Council. Melissa will be talking about the Council's role in handling the major flood crisis earlier this year.
 
The delegate rate is £399 plus vat CIPR members and £499 plus vat non members. Included in the price is attendance at the President's Reception the evening before on 7 November. There are discounts for independent practitioners and those working in local government, charity and educational establishments.

A discussion on the implication of the growth of social media on the delivery of local news and information followed by open forum

We have seen unprecedented changes in the media in recent years, both with developments in technology in the existing media and with much more open access through blogs, podcasts, Wiki, Myspace, Youtube, Facebook, etc.

What have been the implications for local news and information? How will the effects of these and other social and interactive media be felt over the next few years?
