New PRide Awards
Venue: Endeavour House, Ipswich
It was great to see yet another record amount of entries to the Pride Awards and thank you to everyone that took the time to make a submission. As you may be aware, this year the whole criteria changed and all the judging was carried out over a four-day period in August at CIPR HQ in London.
The East Anglia Pride Awards event is taking place at Endeavour House, Suffolk County Council’s head office in Ipswich on Wednesday 3 December.
Alex Dunlop from BBC Look East is hosting the ceremony this year and I would like to thank Paul Dickson, Kevin Bentley and Rechenda Smith who have all played a big part in organising what I’m sure will be a fantastic evening.
To purchase tickets and view the companies short listed please visit http://www.cipr.co.uk/prideawards/regions/eastanglia
You will need to be quick though as there are a limited amount of tickets available this year. |

AGM & Press Cutting Event
Venue: Quy Mill Hotel, Stow cum Quy, Cambridge
Press cuttings are vital to our profession. Knowing what is being
published about you or your clients is so obviously a fundamental part
of reputation management as to be a no-brainer. The NLA's latest project
has the capacity to increase the costs we all face: reduce competition;
restrict the free flow of information; and challenge confidential
commerciality. That's why the CIPR’s campaign to tame the NLA continues
apace.
The format for the event was;

Dealing with a Crisis
Venue: Suffolk County Council, Endeavour House, Ipswich
(Parking will be made available at the Council offices car park in
Russell Road)
Time: 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Suffolk and Ipswich were at the centre of a global media maelstrom in
December following the murder of five women. This event is designed to
look at:
- The demands placed on an organisation / community by this level
of media attention - how did Suffolk respond? (Steve Henry,
Corporate Communications Manager, Suffolk Constabulary).
- How other communities have lived through similar media
attention, lessons learned and actions taken to rebuild community
cohesion and reputation (Robin Treacher, Chair of CIPR Local
Government group).
- CIPR members will have businesses and clients that have been
affected by this level of media attention. What actions and ideas do
CIPR members have that can help rebuild Suffolk and Ipswich's
reputation and community cohesion? (This will be run as a
brainstorming / ideas / think-tank session).
