CIPR Cymru Wales

Events
CIPR Cymru Wales showcases the best of communications with our annual PRide Awards. They are a fitting way to celebrate the development of public relations — highlighting members' commitment to high quality work and the growing importance of the profession in Wales.

CIPR Cymru Wales members meet once a month to catch up with colleagues and hear from a wide range of speakers. It's a good way of keeping up with the latest developments in the industry.

CIPR Cymru Wales has launched a monthly 'Working Lunch', combining a networking event with a guest speaker or presentation on key industry issues - such as measurement and evaluation in PR, how the Millennium Stadium is selling Wales to the world, and guidance on how to win a PRide Award.

It’s Pro Bono Week

Next week is Pro Bono Week in Wales - to raise awareness of the business benefits of pro bono work across all professions.

There are currently 60 professional firms that are members of Business in the Community's ProHelp in Wales. They donated their time to many good causes last year. If you are interested in joining, there’s a ProHelp drinks reception at Morgan Cole Solicitors, Bradley Court, Park Place, Cardiff, CF10 3DP on Monday 12 November from 6pm - 7pm.

ProHelp can help you provide opportunities to use professional skills outside your day-to-day job, link pro bono work to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme, and help you build new business contacts.

10 October

Speed matching event

Venue: Pica Pica restaurant & bar in Westgate Street, 6-8pm

Would you help a local charity to achieve its communications objectives? If so, there’s an event on Wednesday 10 October that might give you the opportunity.

Media Trust Cymru, with the support of Precedent Communications, is holding a ‘speed matching’ event in Cardiff. It’s a way of bringing charities and media professionals together, to help improve charities’ communications.

Around a dozen media folk have five minutes with someone from a charity, and at the end of the night you choose a charity to offer pro bono ongoing support. So it’s just like speed dating, only minus the date!

Media Trust Cymru exists to build links with the charity and voluntary sectors, and would like to hear from PR professionals with at least two years’ experience, who’d like to attend.

This is an opportunity not only to do something worthwhile, it will also help to boost a CV and contribute to Continuous Professional Development. Please contact annak@mediatrust.org if you can help.
