PR Professionals

The CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) Cymru Wales is for professional communicators. Our members work in government, education, health and other public bodies, while many more are in business, industry and PR consultancies.

The CIPR is UK-wide and offers training and development leading to professional qualifications that are increasingly demanded by employers. We also strive to ensure high standards of professionalism and conduct among our members.

We have recently celebrated not only our 40th anniversary in Wales, but also the granting of chartered status to our organisation - confirming our position as a leading professional body.

A committee of Welsh PR professionals looks after the interests of CIPR members in Wales - organising annual and monthly events; arranging and communicating training and career development opportunities; providing a voice for the profession in Wales; communicating national CIPR information to the Welsh membership; and working in partnership with the School of Journalism at Cardiff University on a number of fronts.

Events

CIPR Cymru Wales showcases the best of communications with our annual PRide Awards. They are a fitting way to celebrate the development of public relations - highlighting members’ commitment to high quality work and the growing importance of the profession in Wales.

CIPR Cymru Wales members meet once a month to catch up with colleagues and hear from a wide range of speakers. It’s a good way of keeping up with the latest developments in the industry.

CIPR Cymru Wales has launched a monthly ’Working Lunch’, combining a networking event with a guest speaker or presentation on key industry issues - such as measurement and evaluation in PR, how the Millennium Stadium is selling Wales to the world, and guidance on how to win a PRide Award.
