CIPR  Health & Medical Group
A forum for all communicators working in the health & medical sector

What the CIPR Health and Medical Group can offer you

H&MG boasts representatives from many areas who can talk to you about what the group has to offer professionals from your sector and what the benefits of such a ‘broad church’ can be. The representatives will also be happy to talk to PROs from other sectors about what they can learn from other parts of the health industry and knowledge that can help them develop as professionals in their chosen sector.

If you want to talk about the benefits of belonging to the group or the CIPR to someone from a similar area of healthcare communications to the sector you work in, the relevant representative will be pleased to discuss it with you.

Why should CIPR members join the H&MG?

The CIPR H&MG aims to provide advice, support and examples of best practice to members. The group also aims to hold events to enable members and other interested PROs to improve their knowledge of the field, meet other professionals and benefit from a wide range of experiences.

No other professional group offers the range of experience that the H&MG enjoys. We believe that this makes us relevant to all healthcare PROs – where else can the NHS communications manager find out about the latest developments in agency-based PR techniques, or the pharmaceutical industry PR officer talk to those working in medical research.

Build new contacts, discuss best-practice or network with potential clients – all areas of healthcare and medical PR are catered for in the H&MG.

Why join the CIPR and H&MG?

We believe that professional communicators in the health and medical industry should consider joining the CIPR and the Health and Medical Group for many reasons.

The CIPR is the only professional body for the PR industry with a royal charter. This gives members an unparalleled credibility both within the profession and outside it. The CIPR is highly respected and well resourced. Moreover, its members have a wealth of multi faceted experience from years in the profession at all levels and all disciplines that new members can benefit from.

The CIPR has a dedicated training department which offers training and education in every imaginable area of PR, from short-but-sweet breakfast briefings to degree-level qualifications. The CIPR also has a world-leading Continuing Professional Development scheme which enables members to attain accredited status and to develop and add to their existing PR skills and experience.

Further to this, membership of the Health and Medical Group can offer a body of experience that no other professional group enjoys. With representation from all areas of the healthcare industry, the H&MG can offer members contact with professionals with experience of best-practice that might otherwise be unobtainable.
