CIPR Inside
2006 was a year of change for the CIPR’s internal communication group,
formerly known as the Internal Communication Alliance. In a move designed to
build on the growing reputation of the CIPR, the group was recently renamed
CIPR Inside. This change is intended to capitalise on the increasing profile
of internal communications and the fact that senior practitioners are now
driving a much broader agenda, including internal reputation, employee
engagement and change. It also underlines the fact that the group is part of
the UK’s only Chartered body for communicators, helping differentiate it
from similar organisations.
2006 saw a number of changes to the committee, including the appointment
of new members, changes to the leadership and a review of roles and
governance. The previous committee had served the ICA well since its
inception 5 years ago and we would like to thank all those who so faithfully
served on it.
Looking ahead to 2007, CIPR Inside has created an ambitious programme of
activity that is designed to position it as the leading professional
organisation for senior internal communicators. Activities include forging
stronger relationships with some of the leading thinkers in the
communications and change arena, enhancing member communication and
delivering an exciting programme of events. We are already seeing the
benefits of this approach.
