Members have unlimited access to the new CIPR PR Centre.
The members' rooms are open between 9am and 6pm for members to drop in to check emails, have a meeting (maximum of three people), read the paper, catch up on the day's news, or simply have a coffee. Wifi is available as well as free laptop hire.
We also have a traditional boardroom, seating 10 which can be hired for meetings by members only for just £50 an hour. Other rooms are also available for meetings, functions or receptions, and members qualify for a 30% discount on all rates.
For full details visit www.cipr.co.uk/stjames.
CIPR members can be sure of access to an exclusive range of benefits and services designed especially for PR practitioners.
These benefits cover the following areas:
CIPR members demonstrate their professionalism and accountability with special member logos, designatory letters and the CIPR Code of Conduct, which all members sign when they join.
The CIPR takes the professional development of members seriously, supporting this with:
The CIPR's Matchmaker service provides new business leads to registered members, bringing in over £6 million of business in 2005. We also offer members a free business support and legal helpline as well as a range of online resources, including an adaptable client contract template and easy to read guides covering areas such as data protection and protecting pitch material.
The CIPR's Continuing Professional Development scheme, Developing Excellence, allows members to plan their learning needs and record achievements within a professional development structure. For our student members, there is a dedicated section on the website, PR Student, which brings together resources to help throughout their studies. We also list a variety of work placement opportunities and advice on finding work.
Network with other practitioners through our 25 regional, national and sectoral groups. Members are automatically allocated to their regional group on joining. If you’ve got a specific interest in a PR sector you can also take advantage of membership of a sectoral group. All UK Affiliates, Associates, Members and Fellows can chose to join a sectoral group free of charge. The online member directory contains contact details for CIPR members and is searchable by name or company. In addition, we represent the interests of members and the UK PR industry in Europe via CERP and the Global Alliance.
It’s not all about work! CIPR membership also offers some great deals on healthcare, hotels, wine, health clubs and car insurance.

Why I joined the CIPR...
"I regard CIPR membership as a great investment
for this organisation, with first-rate access to information, support,
networking opportunities and training. In the busy, often hectic environment we
work in, it's not always possible to keep abreast of everything going on in the
industry, but by using the range of sectoral and regional groups that the CIPR
offers, we have an extra pair of eyes and ears to help us address all the key
issues that will impact on us."
