Grade: Student
What is Student membership?
Student membership is available to anyone studying a
CIPR
approved qualification.
If you are not studying an approved course, you can still join –
read about our
Affiliate Studying membership grade.
You can start your membership at any point in the year, although all
students renew their membership on 1 October regardless of when they have
joined. So it makes sense to join as soon as possible after the start of the
course to get the most out of your subscription!
What does student membership offer me?
As a student member, you pay a subsidised annual fee and are entitled to upgrade
to Associate* or Member as appropriate on completion of your qualification.
You also benefit from access to all the CIPR membership services to help you
throughout your studies and when taking your first steps into a career in public
relations. These include:
- Keeping up to date with industry issues and trends with subscriptions to a
range of PR publications including PRWeek, CIPR member magazine Profile, student magazine Behind the Spin, and a
regular student e-newsletter.
- Access to PR Student, a dedicated online resource within the CIPR Member Area
containing detailed careers information such as advice on finding PR work
experience, factsheets on different PR sectors, a comprehensive CV and interview
guide, the work placement finder for opportunities throughout the UK – and lots
more.
- The opportunity to meet and network with PR practitioners in your local area
through free membership of your regional CIPR group.
These are just a few of the benefits available to you as a student member.
