- Keith Johnston, chair of CIPR Government Affairs Group drafted a letter to PRWeek (5 Mar 10) in response to an article they published entitled ‘Secretive lobbyists face expulsion from CIPR.’ The article indicated that lobbyists who refused to disclose their clients would be forced to leave the CIPR and that we were poised to make a crucial amendment to our code of conduct.

- Kevin Taylor spoke to Motor Transport (22 Feb 10) about crisis communications and the importance of having a crisis communications plan in place prior to an incident.

- A letter drafted by Adrian Wheeler, Chairman of the CIPR Professional Practices Committee, was published in PRWeek on 19 Feb. The letter was in response to a survey published were respondents felt that the Code of Conduct should be more explicit in the area of truthfulness and falsehood.
- CIPR Past President Kevin Taylor took part in a Communicate Magazine debate with Matt Stewart, associate director of Bite Communications about PR qualifications. (18 Feb 10)
“There is always room for the entrant from left field, and for those that can learn on the job and excel. But we do need both and we also need – through programmes such as the Chartered Practitioner scheme – to recognise the skills and experience acquired ‘on the job’ in the same way that we recognise the knowledge acquired through formal education.”
