Reaccreditation of Teaching Centres
From 2006, the CIPR Awarding Body began to audit its teaching
centres to ensure that they continued to be satisfactory for the
purposes of delivering courses towards CIPR qualifications. The
intention now is that all such approved centres shall be reassessed
for the purpose of reaccreditation every three years. In 2006, the
CIPR reassessed two of its oldest and largest centres, and the
objective for 2007 is that the remainder of the older centres in the
UK will be covered.
The process s comprehensive and borrows heavily from that used by
the QAA in respect of its audits of university courses. Centres are
required to submit to the CIPR a comprehensive report that is led by
specific questions laid down by CIPR. There follows an inspection
visit, in which some teaching is observed, after which the CIPR
Inspector writes a report. That report is given to the centre and
its comments are invited. The final report includes an overall
score. Four areas are each scored out of 4 to denote the quality
level found. If any area is awarded 0 or 1, the CIPR will consider
withdrawing accreditation or requesting evidence of urgent
initiative leading to improvement.
The full reports are not shown on this site, but the overall scores
are. They are as follows:
