The CIPR Diploma gives public relations practitioners the
knowledge and understanding of theory and practice to develop as
effective and efficient professionals, providing advanced capability
in management and practice. Diploma graduates are eligible to become
full members of the CIPR.
A growing number of universities recognise the Diploma in
respect of their Masters' programmes (at present Manchester
Metropolitan University, Leeds Metropolitan University and Queen
Margaret University College, Edinburgh).
Taught as a part-time course, the Diploma is
ideal for those in full-time employment.
The Diploma is suitable for you if:
- You are an experienced PR professional without an industry
specific qualification
- You want to learn about the strategic roles and functions of
the public relations practitioner
Enrolment criteria
To be eligible to take the course you would need to have either:
- The
CIPR Advanced Certificate, or
- Four years' PR experience, or
- A related degree plus one year's experience, or
- Any degree plus two years' experience

Venues, dates and fees
There are two intakes per year - one in the Autumn and one in
January - and the course lasts for approximately 12 months.
The course is taught at various venues throughout the country including centres in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol,
Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Guildford, Leeds, London, Manchester,
Sunderland and Reading.
There are also a number of approved overseas
centres.
The course offers a minimum of 48 hours tuition. Some venues teach
on Fridays or Saturdays (approximately one session per month), or
Saturday only, or over two weekdays and some on weekday evenings.
