CIPR Thames & Chiltern

(Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire)

The CIPR’s Thames and Chiltern group has approaching 600 members who live or work in the counties to the west and north of London - specifically in Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. This is a commercially vibrant region, with many different centres for business and industry.

We also have three different academic establishments (West Herts College, the University of Luton and Thames Valley University) running CIPR-approved courses at various levels.

Our members include PR practitioners who work in-house in industry, commerce and the public sector, and in consultancies of all types and sizes. There are also many independent practitioners, and well as students.

The aim of our events programme is to stage events that meet the needs of members. The regular networking lunches in and around Reading are a good example, with demand exceeding the available number of places. We welcome other ideas for ways we can support members in the region, so do let us have your feedback and suggestions.

We are also keen to work with other professional bodies. As a Chartered Institute, the CIPR is the voice of the UK’s PR industry.

Many of our meetings could count towards your achievement of the CIPR Developing Excellence CPD scheme. Complete the scheme and become an accredited practitioner. Full details of the scheme can be found in the Member Area of the CIPR website.

And finally, the regional committee is always keen to hear from members interested in joining. It’s a great way to discover more about the CIPR, and contribute to championing the interests of the CIPR and the PR profession generally in our region. Contact Chair Paul Davison at pauld@proteuspr.co.uk or vice-chair Jennifer Janson at jennifer.janson@sixdegreespr.com if you would like to explore the possibilities.
