Carbon Literacy & Digital Carbon Footprints for PRs

Carbon Literacy & Digital Carbon Footprints for PRs

Green, ESG, Digital Footprint, Carbon footprint, carbon literacy
Join the Government of Jersey’s climate engagement team at a Lunch and Learn session on digital carbon footprints and how carbon literacy can benefit your business or department.

This introductory session will offer an overview of Carbon Literacy Training and how communications professionals can play a significant role in shifting the narrative – moving away from messaging that feels boring or dooming, and towards more motivating conversations that work to encourage behaviour change. We’ll also talk about organisations that have benefited from the training locally and how it could benefit your business or department.

A fun part of the session will be looking at organisations’ impact on digital carbon footprint - with insightful stats on everyday behaviours such as sending an email, uploading a social media video, using AI, or even doomscrolling. Lots of tips and tricks will be provided to help reduce your footprint meaningfully.

Key takeaways include:
- A basic understanding of carbon literacy and its relevance to PR, marketing and communications
- An overview of digital emissions and their environmental impact
- Practical tips to reduce your digital carbon footprint
- Opportunities for further training and organisational action

This session is ideal for communications professionals looking to build foundational climate knowledge and integrate sustainability into their work.
