Indie, freelance, small team and want to increase capacity, improve consistency and strengthen strategic decision making? Want to demystify AI, build confidence and gain immediately usable prompts and workflows?

Join Fiona Capel, Head of Communications, whg, for a practical, insight rich CIPR Midlands OpenMIC session online Thursday 24 September 2026, 1-2pm.

Drawing on real in house experience, Fiona will demonstrate how AI supports scenario planning, “critical friend” challenge, rapid background research, sentiment analysis, reporting, and content repurposing. She will also show how bespoke GPTs can streamline workflows, maintain tone of voice and enhance team alignment.

The session explores key risks of data governance, bias, accuracy, skills erosion, transparency and ethics and highlights how practitioners can use AI confidently while staying aligned with the CIPR Code of Conduct. Attendees will see practical demonstrations of tools which include AMEC aligned measurement and evaluation.

Ideal for freelancers, solo practitioners and small comms teams seeking practical, real world applications rather than technical theory.

This session is worth 5 CIPR CPD points.
