Politics & Public Affairs in Northern Ireland – What’s Next?
CIPR, Northern Ireland, Stormont, NI, Northern Ireland Assembly, Public Affairs, Politics
The recent Northern Ireland election saw significant shifts in the make up of the Northern Ireland Assembly, leading to Sinn Féin becoming the largest party, the DUP losing 7% of its vote share and Alliance making significant gains to become the third largest party in the Assembly.

However, the nomination of a Speaker and formation of an Executive has been stalled by the DUP amidst ongoing discussions of the Northern Ireland protocol.

In this context, the CIPR Public Affairs group and CIPR NI would like to invite you to discuss what’s next for Politics and Public Affairs in Northern Ireland.
 Our panel will comprise:

Arlene O’Connor, Founder and Director, Brown O’Connor Communications;

Daithi McKay, Advocacy and Campaigns Officer, RSPB NI and Deputy Chair of the Climate Coalition;

Theo Burton, Chief Policy Officer, Pure Mental NI;

Max Sugarman, Head of Public Affairs and Policy for the Catapult Network and CIPR Public Affairs Group Chair;

The panel will discuss how we can work to effect policy change in a unique situation, where there is no government in the province, and how to build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.

We hope you can join us to join the conversation.
