Ethics in PR: Full series
Module 1: What is ethics?
This module explains what we mean by ethics and answers the question ‘What is ethics?’ in both a personal and professional capacity.
- Objectives:
- Answer the question ‘What is ethics?’
- Explain the similarities and differences between personal and professional ethics
Module 2: How should I think about ethics?
This module offers introductory level advice on how we can apply tools and techniques when thinking about ethics.
- Objectives:
- Understand what to consider when making ethical decisions
- Introduce the theory of reflective equilibrium
- Introduce ethical principles of utilitarianism, categorical imperative and situational
Module 3: Practical applications
This module will look at ethics in a practical way and will consider ethics particularly through the lens of the PR professional.
- Objectives:
- Understand why ethics in important in PR
- Understand our ethical responsibilities in the PR profession
- Offer some practical steps to deal with ethical issues in PR
- Introduce the CIPR Code of Conduct and the Global Alliance Guiding Principles of Ethics
- Introduce other guidelines, decision making tools and support offered by the CIPR
Once you register, you'll have access to the content for the next 6 months and will be notified a month prior to access being withdrawn. Once completed, you can log 5 CPD points.
Having successfully completed the on-demand training, consider enrolling on one of the follow-up live sessions scheduled for 18 June 2024 or 7 November 2024. These facilitated conversations offer an opportunity for individuals who have completed the Ethics on-demand training to engage in discussions about their learning alongside fellow PR professionals.
