CIPR International’s AGM will be a landmark event. As well as an opportunity to celebrate all that has been achieved over the last year, we’ll be launching the CIPR’s world-leading Humans Needed More than Ever report.

The three authors will discuss this report: Jean Valin, from Canada and the UK’s Professor Emeritus Anne Gregory and Dr Swati Virmani.

They will reveal just how much of our professional work is now being assisted or replaced by Artificial Intelligence. They conclude that although AI is making significant advances, there are whole areas where humans are needed more than ever. Come to our AGM to hear how AI will affect you and your work.

Preceding this exciting analysis (during which time you will have the opportunity to quiz our speakers), we will hold the official part of the AGM. You will hear what CIPR International has achieved over the last year, about our plans for the future and have the opportunity to meet the new committee, which will be voted in during the meeting.

A bit about the illustrious speakers:

Jean Valin APR FCPRS Hon. CIPR Fellow is Principal at Valin Strategic Communications. @JeanValin1
He had a 30 year career managing communications for the Government of Canada.
During the last ten years, he has researched the impact that artificial intelligence is having on the practice of public relations. He was invited to review the recent CIPR report on AI tools and their impact on public relations.

Dr Swati Virmani
Swati is a Senior Lecturer and Teacher Fellow at De Montfort University, UK. @swativirmani8

As a member of the CIPR’s AI in PR panel, Swati has worked on two major research reports, Effects of AI on the Professions and AI and Big Data readiness, assessing the profession's preparedness for an AI future and emphasising the practical support required for upskilling. Most recently she is working with people from different backgrounds and underrepresented groups to expand public knowledge and unbiased information around data science and AI.

Professor Anne Gregory, PhD
Emeritus Professor Anne Gregory is Chair of Corporate Communication at the University of Huddersfield and a Board member of the CIPR @GregsAnne

Anne is a passionate advocate for the profession, an influential thought-leader and co-author of three major reports for the CIPR: The Effects of AI on the Professions, Ethics Guide to Artificial Intelligence in PR and the AI Readiness report. She serves on CIPR’s International Committee and AI in PR Panel.
