Carbon Literacy for Communicators (1 of 2)

Carbon Literacy for Communicators (1 of 2)

cipr nw, carbon literacy, climate change, chan, woodford, carbon literate citizen
CIPR North West’s inspirational training course is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project. Each participant will be presented with a uniquely coded Carbon Literacy certificate, provided they complete the course successfully!

The objective is to master the fundamentals and language of carbon reduction, and the effect humanity has in creating climate change.  One key area is avoiding greenwash and how, as communicators, we need to respond in the context of climate change.

PR professionals can play a big part in finding a solution to the complex challenges of climate change.  They can help influence consumer preferences and behaviours.

This training course is designed to encourage positive action by developing sustainability-focused communication skills and frameworks. Session 1 lays the foundation in terms of climate science and carbon footprint. Session 2 focuses on positive change by providing learners with examples of best practice from a communications and CSR standpoint.

The format of the training is virtual apart from the final informal awarding session.

1 hour’s self-study using pre-recorded material.
Two tutored live online sessions via the Zoom platform – each three and a half hours long.
The event will culminate in an informal Communicators Climate Action event in Manchester so that everyone can meet face to face and receive their certificates and permission to use the ‘Certified Carbon Literate’ badge.

The live Zoom sessions will be delivered by an experienced trainer.  There will be plenty of activities and discussions in the breakout rooms.

The course is limited to 20 people to allow for interaction and discussions within the Zoom Rooms.
