MHCLG Consultation

MHCLG Consultation

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government, call for evidence into built environment professions, trades and occupations. Consultation, construction, property, clients, specifiers, manufacturers, insurers, funders
The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government has published a call for evidence into built environment professions, trades and occupations. The consultation, which closes on August 12, has been designed to inform critical choices about the shape and scope of a new strategy that will be published in Spring 2027.

The call represents an important moment for everyone working across the built environment, including communications professionals at the CIPR, with responses expected influence expectations around competence, professional conduct and culture, regulation, accountability and leadership.

MHCLG explicitly wants input from organisations beyond traditional construction delivery, including those working for clients, specifiers, manufacturers, insurers and funders.

CAPSIG – the Construction and Property Special Interest Group of the CIPR – is inviting members to a zoom session at 4pm on Tuesday, July 21, to discuss the issues in the consultation, ahead of the CIPR formally responding.
