The CIPR Specialist Diploma (Sustainability Communications) is designed for both generalist professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge of the discipline and for those who are, or aim to become, responsible for communicating the sustainability agenda within their organisation.
The syllabus is taught and assessed at the same level as a postgraduate degree.
WHAT DO I LEARN AND HOW IS IT ASSESSED?
The Specialist Diploma (Sustainability Communications) covers topics including:
- Exploring the role of organisations in society, and how public relations practitioners can help shape communications strategy on the Environment, Social and Corporate Governance, including Diversity.
- Understanding the concepts and tools employed in researching, interpreting, and analysing sustainability data to support organisations in meeting the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
- Managing sustainability communications activities and ethical stakeholder engagement to effectively identify and respond to disinformation and misinformation about sustainability.
The assessment will involve producing an executive report and supporting statement of reflection on a case study of your choice. The report will identify the sustainability challenges facing your chosen organisation and recommend a suitable communications strategy and course of action to help the organisation meet its sustainability goals.
