About the Network
The CIPR Independent Practitioner Network relaunched in Spring 2025 and is co-chaired by Sara Naylor and Miranda Rocksmith.
A committee has now formed and reached a consensus on three priorities for 2025/26:
• Provide a supportive and collaborative network regardless of sector
• Insight into the fundamentals of running and growing a business
• Explore tech toolkit for independent practitioners
The committee is working on a programme to support these priorities, and how to complement and amplify the excellent work that is already happening regionally.
We held our launch event on 4 July, which will soon be available to watch on demand for 5 CPD points. We are busy planning our next event, professional development for independent practitioners including Chartership, in September. Don’t forget to sign up for our news updates in your membership portal under ‘Preferences’ tab. CIPR members who share the common ground of being independent are welcome to join us. This network is for you wherever you are based in the world if you are a freelance working on contracts within organisations or you work directly with clients.
If you are considering making the move to working independently, then you are also welcome to be part of the network to explore if this is the right choice for you.
