A Thank You and Fond Farewell

4 November 2025

When people come together, great things happen. That’s clear from the CIPR North West Committee, where volunteers have given their time, energy, and expertise to champion our region and profession.

This year, we bid a fond farewell to many wonderful members: Sali Midjek-Conway, our Chair, as well as Jeni Beattie, Nosheen Haque, Amanda Coleman, Adeeba Hussain, Amanda Jackson and James Jordan, all who have been dedicated committee members.

Sali has led the committee with energy and warmth, representing the North West at national CIPR meetings and steering our regional strategy. Her tenure has seen exceptional engagement from members, a rich calendar of events across the region, and a focus on professional development.

“Being Chair has been a privilege,” said Sali. “I’ve loved leading the committee, supporting the national strategy and seeing it come to life locally across the North West. Watching our team pull together to make so much happen – from incredible events and inspiring mentorship to championing equality, diversity and inclusion, and devising our first charity partnership. These are just a few moments that have made me so proud. Volunteering here has expanded my horizons in ways I never expected.”

Jeni, with twelve years of service, has been the quiet force behind many of our training sessions and learning-based events, always bringing her signature wit and wisdom.

“Twelve years is too long and it is time for a fresh approach!” Jeni reflected. “I have met some remarkable and talented people, but it is time I sloped off.  I will miss the camaraderie, creativity, and the joy of our monthly meetings.”

Also leaving for new adventures are Adeeba Hussain, our Secretary, plus Amanda Coleman, Amanda Jackson and James Jordan, who have supported to committee with budgeting and events – and so much more. We wish them all the best of luck and a big thank you for their support.

Their departure leaves big shoes to fill – but also exciting opportunities. We’re thrilled to welcome our new Chair, Natalie Geraghty, who has supported the committee as Vice Chair during Sali’s tenure.

“I’m honoured to step into the role and continue building on such strong foundations,” added Natalie.

If you’re passionate about PR and want to shape its future in the North West, now’s the time to get involved. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to meet new people and expand your network, the committee welcomes fresh voices and new ideas.
