Time to reset and recharge

The summer is a great time to reset and recharge. Here’s how a few of our committee members plan to spend their summers.
Christina Berry-Moorcroft is looking forward to spending more time outdoors and making a start on wedding dress shopping.
“This summer, I’m looking forward to soaking up long, late evenings in the park with friends and my dogs, BBQs, camping adventures in the Lake District, and dancing my way through festivals (all weather dependant)!
“I just returned from an exceptional but exhausting Glastonbury Festival (40k steps a day in the heat and very little sleep is no joke) so I'll be spending more time this month recovering, too. I’m also excited to kick off wedding dress shopping and take advantage of quieter workdays while others are on holiday to finally hit—and maintain—inbox zero! Here's hoping!”
Deepa Thomas-Sutcliffe has a jam-packed agenda doing the things she loves with the people she loves:
“This summer, I have had family time with my parents visiting from India; summer short trips to Stratford-upon-Avon, the Cotswolds, and the New Forest; loads of long dog walks around reservoirs and water parks, as well as few different speaking opportunities about purpose and social impact.
“I am looking forward to planning the next ‘Meet the Mancunian’ podcast season, learning Italian and looking ahead to my 50th birthday trip to Italy.”
Freya Budd, on the other hand, is hoping for more time to be spontaneous:
“I’m looking forward to more evening BBQs, weekend swims, being a bookworm (Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley is next on the list), plenty of catch ups with friends in the sunshine and making more room for spontaneous plans.”
Sounds bliss.
“A week away in Italy tasting all the delicious food and swimming in the sea” is on Harriet Williams’ horizon. “I also think holidays are a great chance for some thinking time and a reset before returning to work.”
“If the warm weather continues, I’ll be pottering in my garden, trying my best to keep everything happy and healthy (!), and listening to lots of podcasts! I’m still loving my firm favourites like Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place and Davina McCall’s Begin Again, where Ed Jackson’s recent episode and story really struck a chord. I’ve also been hooked on Titanic – Ship of Dreams. They’re great while walking the dog, doing chores, or just company when working from home!”
