From surviving to thriving: Delivering Change with Confidence

Change is the job now
Change isn’t an occasional project anymore. It has become the day-to-day reality. For years we’ve heard about the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) world and the change it drives. However, the level of change is now constant in many not-for-profit organisations. For communicators in the not-for-profit world, the challenge isn’t just to keep up. It’s to lead.
Whether it’s restructuring, funding cuts, shifting policy landscapes or digital transformation, those of us working in this space are navigating relentless complexity, often without the luxury of big teams, new technology, or generous budgets.
That’s why the CIPR Not-for-Profit Group’s half-day conference on Change Communications on 19 September couldn’t be timelier.

Voices from Beyond PR
We’ve curated a speaker line-up that brings fresh thinking and broad perspectives, going beyond the traditional PR lens to explore what change looks like in action and giving you the tools necessary to lead through it.
Our keynote speaker is Yomi Adekoke, an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author. She’ll share honest insights on identity, visibility, and communicating with clarity and courage in a complex media and social landscape.
You’ll also hear from Priscilla Leigh, a psychoaudiologist who specialises in helping professionals become exceptional communicators and leaders through the science of how the auditory system shapes the mind, behaviour, and performance.
These are voices that challenge, inspire, and speak to the real work of moving people, not just messages.

Giving you the skills to lead through Change
We’re also hosting a live panel on Career resilience in an AI-powered world—exploring what we need to be doing now to understand, harness and use AI tools to ensure that we are prepared for the future.
The morning includes practical, skills-focused breakout sessions so you can tailor your experience to the challenges you’re facing. Topics in these sessions range from driving change in Change-resistant organisations to working with campaigners for the co-creation of inspiring change content.
We also recognise that, especially for those of us working in the Not-For-Profit sector, people are often at the heart of our organisational mission, and it’s people who drive our organisations. We have Chaya Mistry, who will be speaking to the emotional and human dynamics of change, and why putting people at the heart of change is vital. Our closing plenary speaker is Ann-Marie Blake, who has long been an industry leader in organisational change.

Designed for You
This event is built with the not-for-profit professional in mind: people with complex roles that often involve all the communications responsibilities for an organisation – people who are responding to crisis, and making things happen with limited time and resources. Whether you’re in-house, agency-side, freelance, or juggling a mix of all three, this is a space to pause, recharge and come away better equipped.

Tickets are available at £48 for CIPR members and £60 for non-members - outstanding value for a morning packed with new ideas, tools, and real-world insight.
