8. Public Affairs Campaign

This award recognises a campaign designed to inform or change the public policy agenda, or to influence the legislative process, utilising either lobbying or broader grassroots public affairs tactics, including media and online relations.

Winner

  • Guide Dogs
    Dog Attacks Campaign

Guide Dogs achieved legislative change that will make a difference to all guide-dog owners. The team used a combination of public affairs and media techniques including attracting 155 MPs to Guide Dogs' most successful Parliamentary reception ever. Compulsory micro-chipping of all dogs in England is due to come into force in 2016. It is now also planned that attacks on guide-dogs will be viewed, under law, as equally seriously as an attack on humans.
