    Hearty Lives Torfaen is programme in partnership with Torfaen County Borough Council, Aneurin Bevan Health Board and Public Health Wales, which aims to help people of all ages to manage their weight and improve their long-term heart health. On a small budget, the charity maximised exposure by engaging partner organisations, key audiences and targeting a wide range of media. The combined effect of a launch, strong case studies and follow-up media work produced fantastic results for the programme.

    Stopping a railway strike in its tracks - preventing chaos on a rugby international day

    An excellent example of proactive issues management. Equinox Communications spearheaded a crisis management strategy for Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) to deal with planned industrial action on the railways which would have caused chaos across Wales on a rugby international day. As a result of a bold approach, the outcome was called off their strike two days before the international which meant ATW was able to operate a full service on the day, carrying up to 35,000 supporters to and from the game. Well managed and delivered.

    The Big Lunch (TBL) is an idea from The Eden Project to encourage neighbours to eat together in the hope of building new relationships. Golley Slater developed an integrated, bi-lingual campaign to raise awareness and to encourage Welsh communities to take part. TBL 2011 saw a 282% increase. A really strong and well executed campaign.

    St David's transformed the retail landscape in Cardiff by creating a brand new fashion destination. It was imperative that the repositioning was effectively communicated to consumers. An excellent example of strong and effective retail communications - taking what is effectively a shell and giving it a personality and engaging prospect for shoppers and stakeholders.

    Social media proved to be a good way for the client to engage and interact with consumers, to form relationships and to respond to potential issues. It helped to stop rumours and mitigate negativity. This campaign cleverly monitored conversations before engaging, creating relevance and on-point basis for conversations. The outputs evidenced a very structured and 'real' approach. Social media had a real impact in driving footfall and for St David's.

Approximately one third of staff do not have access to a computer, so the decision was made to print the magazine and provide a copy to all members of staff.

    How do I market my produce in these recessionary times? Fork2Fork National Direct Food Sales Conference

    Research carried out across the Food & Drink Supply Chain (FDSC) in Wales found a need to increase skills in sales/marketing techniques for Welsh producers. The theme for the Fork2Fork National Direct Food Sales Conference responded to this need. The strategy and methodology seemed spot on and were carried through into tactics. Reactive event management throughout the planning process allowed the team to respond to the requirements and ensure the final activity was both memorable and effective for the sell-out crowd on the day but also the added longevity due to filmed footage of the conference on Fork2Fork TV.
