Rachel Picken, MCIPR, Chair
Rachel is Chartered independent PR practitioner based in Cornwall. She teaches CIPR qualifications including the Professional Diploma and Advanced Certificate, and has developed a specialism in using Agile project management within PR.
Rachel works with charities and B2B, offering brand and communications strategy, evaluation, media relations, training and copywriting. She is also the UK feature writing for US magazine Agile Vox.

Olivia is Corporate Communications Manager at law firm Michelmores LLP. She has experience working both in-house and agency side. Olivia joined the CIPR South West Committee in 2013.
Laura Boxall MCIPR, CIPR Accredited Practitioner, Secretary
Laura is a communications professional with 13 years' experience working for central government departments in a range of marketing, strategic, and internal communications roles in the Home Office, Immigration and Department for Business. Currently Head of Corporate Communications for ISS, she has previously worked on public-facing campaigns on subjects including police recruitment and consumer rights. Laura gained a Masters in Public Relations from the University of the Arts, London in 2008 and the CIPR Crisis (Response) Communications Diploma in 2016. She has been a member of the CIPR since 2006 and joined the CIPR SW Committee in 2014 as Newsletter and Web Editor.
Gioconda Beekham, Regional Co-ordinator - Bristol
Gioconda (known as G) is an independent communications consultant with over 15 years' global brand experience in developing strategic programmes that have a positive impact on a brand's reputation and commercial success.Her expertise includes working with clients and leading agency teams to create and deliver integrated marketing communications activities that build awareness, drive engagement and lead to action.
She has provided communications advice to support clients with business growth, geographical expansion, digital transformation programmes, new product and event launches. In addition, she has also worked on campaigns to raise brand awareness, change perception and manage consolidation and is an experienced crisis communications consultant.
G is a new member to the CIPR South West committee and as Bristol co-ordinator is looking forward to bringing the community together through fun and informative events.
Rosie Bradbury, Regional Co-ordinator - Cornwall

Rosie is an Account Manager at Cornish PR and Marketing agency SBPR, where she works with clients across a range of sectors to promote their brands and identities.
She really enjoys securing both online and traditional offline coverage for her clients and attending networking events to broaden her network of connections, whenever she can.
This is Rosie's first year working with the CIPR and she's looking forward to organising events and bringing like-minded Cornish professionals together.
Sarah Gleadall, MCIPR, Regional Co-ordinator – Devon
Sarah currently works freelance as a Communications Consultant specialising in the non-profit sector, including charities and social enterprises.
She has around 20 years' experience in communications. Previously she was Head of Communications for British Red Cross (South East Territory) and Plymouth Community Homes. She has also worked in senior communications roles for a national homelessness charity, a London local authority and has worked as a freelance PR in Sydney.
Sarah enjoys strategic communications helping organisations make impact for communities. She is driven about the role of communications at Board and senior management level. She is a fairly new member of CIPR and working towards becoming chartered. She is based in Tavistock, Devon.
Jade Jackson-Newman, Regional Co-ordinator - Gloucestershire

Jade is a PR consultant with seven years communications experience in many industries such as automotive, travel, food and drink, lifestyle and not-for-profit - from global brands to small, local businesses.
Jade loves the wide variety that working in communications brings as well as making many connections that lead to opportunities for herself, others and vice versa. It's what you know - and who you know!
As regional Gloucestershire co-ordinator she is looking forward to bringing like-minded professionals together to discuss ideas and obstacles, as well as offer them the chance to learn something new.
Mark Lambert, PRide Co-ordinator
Byron Price, MCIPR, Web and Newsletter Editor
Company: L-3 TRL Technology
Byron has 15 years' experience across the communications mix including PR, media, internal communications, brand development, business-to-business marketing and stakeholder communications. He is currently Communications Executive at L-3 TRL Technology and has previously worked in a range of public and education sector roles. As well as his PR work, Byron has volunteered for Friends of the Earth and a local community radio station. Byron is a new member of the CIPR South West Committee joining the group in 2016.
Polly Foster, Social Media Officer
Polly is an award-winning and CIPR-accredited practitioner. When she's not working on web and social media for the Higher Education Funding Council for England, you'll find her in a pile of papers studying for a masters degree in corporate communications.
She has conducted academic studies on topics such as how employees can be empowered to use Twitter, how PR functions in the world of competitive computer gaming and why the internet went wild for Harambe the gorilla.
Continuing this digital trend, Polly joined the CIPR committee in 2017 to create social media content to inspire and celebrate PR professionals across the south west.
Polly Snell, Social Media
Having graduated with a first class honours in Journalism and PR, Polly is now based in Bristol loving her work in consumer public relations.
She currently specialises in beauty and interiors where her job is to get lifestyle brands onto the radar of top journalists and key social influencers, to impact trends and get people talking. Her role includes social media design and creation, copywriting for pitches, media relations, blogger outreach and relationship development.
In 2017, Polly joined the CIPR committee as Social Content Coordinator to bring the south west network together as a team and remind everyone why membership is so important.
