Dave Mason MCIPR, is a CIPR Accredited media and crisis training practitioner, who runs an established media, presentation and social simulation training company. His broadcasting career in radio and television spans 30 years. For a decade, he’s coached members of major public and blue chip private sector organisations, as well as the UK Armed Forces and NATO around the world.
Dave is respected for his inspiring training, which is supportive and concentrates on fast learning development techniques. He’s helped numerous organisations during high profile media crises and devised a digital training platform for social media.
Aged 20, Dave was a founding presenter and shareholder of the first regional commercial radio station in his home county, moving on to work extensively in commercial radio around the UK, as well at BBC News as a Correspondent on Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 1. Dave has been a TV presenter, reporter and producer at ITN in London, Good Morning Television, (ITV Breakfast), and ITV News Westcountry. He was one of GMTV’s senior producers for a decade, covering major international stories, including 9/11 and London’s 7/7 bombings, as well as domestic, political and entertainment stories, undercover investigations and war reporting.
Dave still broadcasts as a pundit on BBC Radio, LBC and Talk Radio and is a visiting lecturer at the universities of Bath Spa, Gloucestershire and the Cardiff School of Journalism. He is author of the book “Handling The Media In Good Times & Bad”.
