CIPR North West is delighted to invite PR practitioners from across the region to Lancashire's next event. The session will commence with a chance to network with fellow practitioners over buffet and drinks and will then be split into two parts:
What next for measurement and evaluation in public relations practice?
The death of AVE and the Barcelona Principles: are we any further ahead? The industry seems clear that the writing is on the wall for AVEs – this year's CIPR awards are placing measurement at the core of our judging criteria but will discount AVEs as an evaluation tool. So what will replace them? This session will be presented by Dr. Jon White, FCIPR. Dr. White is an approved CIPR trainer who has undertaken international consultancy projects around the globe for clients such as British Airways, Shell International and the Cabinet Office. He is currently working on communication-related training programmes with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK, the European Commission and Parliament in Brussels and Luxembourg. He is a visiting professor at the University of Central Lancashire.
Evaluating the impact of on-line PR and social media
We're all doing it. But do we know how to measure the impact of our tweeting, LinkedIn and Facebook activity? And, as more and more businesses are focusing on online media, how can PR practitioners demonstrate tangible results. Mike Anderson, Area Director of Meltwater Buzz will present a practical session on techniques and tools for monitoring and evaluating on-line media.
