GDPR Essentials for PR Practitioners

t this evening event in Preston we will be discussing the increasingly important subject of digital resilience, including the significance of the GDPR legislation and guidance on what every company needs to do to be ready by May 2018.

The speaker is Mark Child, CEO of Xcina Consulting, part of the AIM listed Shearwater Group, one of the leading digital resilience companies in the UK.  Based in London, Mark is the co-founder of Xcina Consulting and has significant industry-recognised expertise in digital resilience, technology risk management, data privacy, internal audit and quality management.  His 20 years’ experience covers a range of sectors, including financial services, retail and manufacturing.

Mark also frequently chairs events and contributes to articles covering key topics, including cyber security and GDPR regulations.  

Who should attend?

This event will be suitable for anyone who wants to increase their understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation for themselves, their company or their client.  The session will begin at 6.00 pm with registration and refreshments; the presentation will begin at 6.30 pm.  

This event is worth 5 CPD points to CIPR members.  At the event, non-members will have the opportunity to receive a special discount code that allows them to join the CIPR without paying the joining fee. 

Full payment must be received prior to the start of the event.  No refunds or credit notes will be possible after Tuesday 3 October but you will be entitled to send a substitute.  When arriving, use the Victoria II car park on Victoria Street, which is pay and display until 6.00 pm and free after that time.
