Evaluation Excellence: tools & techniques to excel at measuring your comms

CIPR SW Bristol presents Evaluation Excellence: tools and techniques to excel at measuring your communication efforts (followed by Members EGM)

One part of the communications practitioner community thinks that they’ve got a good thing going on with the guidance provided to their members. The Government Communication Service (GCS) recently launched the latest version of their Evaluation Framework, and Cabinet Office Regional Campaign Manager Ruth Verrall and Assistant Campaign Manager Robyn Western will be taking CIPR members and guests through the evaluation matrix, using case studies of how the guidance has been put into practice. Although primarily produced for a government communications practitioner community, the guide has application to PR and Internal Communications practitioners alike.

At this CPD event learn how

  • to develop SMART communication objectives and KPIs;
  • you can use evaluation to improve the effectiveness of all communication and campaign activity; and
  • improve your evaluation capability and standards in line with industry best practice.

Following the presentation attendees will be asked to participate in a crowdsourcing activity to consider their own challenges around measurement and evaluation and what stops them from doing it well. We’ll then draw on the power of the assembled delegates and crowdsource solutions, drawing on advice from Ruth and Robyn. The intent is that attendees will go home with practical tips on how to apply effective evaluation techniques to their work.
