Nominations for CIPR elections opened on Wednesday 29 April and closed on Friday 22nd May 17:00 BST.

This is your opportunity to step forward, influence the direction of the profession and play a leading role in the future of the CIPR – while developing your own skills, network and impact along the way.

We’re inviting nominations for Council, Board and President - each offering a unique way to contribute to the CIPR and develop your leadership experience.

Explore the roles below to find out more about what’s involved, the time commitment and how to self-nominate.

Why stand for election?

Standing for election gives you the chance to:

  • Develop strategic, board-level thinking
  • Build your profile as a visible voice in PR and communications
  • Strengthen your leadership capability in a supportive but high-impact environment
  • Expand your network across sectors, disciplines and seniority levels
  • Shape the future of the profession while giving something back

For many members, this becomes a defining step in their career.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who bring fresh thinking, different perspectives and a willingness to contribute.

You might be:

  • Working in a strategic role or ready to step into one
  • Passionate about professional standards and the future of PR
  • Curious, collaborative and confident in sharing your perspective
We particularly welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, sectors and experiences. There is no single ‘type’ of candidate - diversity of thought is essential to how we move forward.

Non-members of the CIPR are welcome to stand for our Board.

How the elections work

CIPR voting members will elect:

 - The President
 - Up to 11 Council members in September 2026
