CIPR Scotland is thrilled to invite members to an exclusive evening with one of Scotland’s best-known broadcast journalists, Martin Geissler. This is a rare chance to hear first-hand from a former foreign and Africa correspondent who has reported
from the frontlines of the world’s biggest stories.
Martin has covered events from the Gulf War and Hurricane Katrina to the Arab Spring and the Asian Tsunami. He filed reports for ITN from more than 70 countries across every inhabited continent and his work has earned nominations for Emmy,
BAFTA, and Royal Television Society awards.
Now presenting for BBC Scotland and hosting the Scotcast podcast, Martin will join our Chair, Stewart Argo, for a sofa-side conversation about his career, why he became a journalist, what it’s really like to make the news, and his experiences of working with PR professionals.
Away from the news, Martin is a husband, proud dad of two, an avid walker of his golden retriever Baxter, a keen (if terrible) golfer, and a passionate Heart of
Midlothian supporter.
